Indian passports have improved their visa-free score significantly over the last decade. Here's the practical 2026 map — though always confirm before booking.

Visa-on-arrival or visa-free (no pre-application): Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Mauritius, Indonesia (Bali), Thailand (subject to current policy), Sri Lanka (ETA), and several others. Check fees and document requirements.

E-visa (apply online, pre-arrival): UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia (eNTRI), and many more. Generally easier than embassy visas but still require planning.

Embassy/consulate visa: Schengen Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, China, Japan. Plan 4–8 weeks ahead during peak season and apply only after itinerary is locked.

Universal advice: passport valid 6+ months beyond travel, two blank pages, return ticket and accommodation proof on hand, and consider travel insurance covering refusal/cancellation.
